For parents that require advanced care or additional medical treatment, assisted living pro- vides a degree of independence while still providing our parents the help they need. The par- ents we once believed could take on the world now need our assistance getting around their home. This experience can lead to sadness, frustration, guilt, fear, and other emotions for adult children taking on this tremendous responsi- bility. And though it can sometimes

feel overwhelming, it can also be an incredibly rewarding time in our lives and those of our parents. It’s our chance to give back to the parents that poured their blood, sweat, and tears into raising us by taking care of them when they become vulnerable.
Most importantly, you don’t need to navigate these challenges alone. There
Caregiving Is Another
Word for Love
Caregiving is the backbone of rela- tionships throughout life. Here and there as children, and then as adults, we all have received it. Care is essential to our continued health and well being. Sometimes, we become caregivers. This transition is often slow; maybe

We are featuring inspirational speaker Brenda Roberts, Laughter Yoga, man- icures, massages, and plenty of retail therapy! Brenda Roberts is an experi- enced, dynamic speaker, with a passion for inspiring caregivers. Lunch will

Often we become caregivers with- out really understanding that we ARE caregivers. It’s care provided in love for a spouse, parent, or child, generally because that’s just what you do.
Caregiving is a constant job with- out a name and we shoulder it without compensation or recognition. It can consume most of our time.
