KCC produces hundreds of graduates each year from the College’s Heath Sci- ences areas of study, covering all aspects of the health care field. From the EMTs and paramedics who are first on the scene of a health emergency to the medical assistants and nurses who treat patients in clinics in hospitals, to those who provide regular and preventative care as dental hygienists, physical therapist assistants, radiographers, and other professionals, KCC graduates are on the front lines of health care practice across Southwest Michigan and beyond.
Physical Therapist Assistant – KCC’s Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)Program was the first program in the state of Mich- igan and the sixth program in the nation, with the first class graduating in 1973.
The deadline to apply to KCC’s Radi- ography Program is May 20.
Admission to several KCC health programs is selective, and each program has its own admission process and ap- plication period each year. The applica- tion period for many of these programs, listed below, opened in January, with deadlines staggered through the spring semester.
Graduates of KCC’s PTA Program in 2019 and 2020 surveyed by the College had a 100% employment rate.
The KCC Nursing Program is accred- ited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) and boasts a strong tradition of excellence as one
of the College’s best known and largest academic programs.
Dental Hygiene – KCC’s two-year Dental Hygiene Program is accredited
by the Commission on Dental Accredita- tion (CODA) and prepares graduates for licensure as Registered Dental Hygienists, licensed to clean teeth and perform dental exams at the direction of a dentist. Stu- dents spend a significant amount of time gaining hands-on experience by working in the College’s Dental Hygiene Clinic on
Radiography – KCC’s Radiography Program is fully accredited and approved by the Joint Review Committee on Edu- cational Programs in Radiologic Technol- ogy (JRCERT) and prepares graduates to take the national certification exam of the American Registry of Radiologic Tech- nologists (ARRT).

The deadline to apply to KCC’s Dental Hygiene Program is March 1.
Graduates of KCC’s Radiography Program over the past five years surveyed by the College had a 94.9% average job placement rate.
KCC’s PTA Program is fully accred- ited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) and prepares graduates for certification to become licensed PTAs. These health professionals work under the direction of a physical therapist to provide therapy services to patients with health-related conditions to help them live fuller and more productive lives.
Nursing – KCC’s Nursing Program is the only local associate-degree-level nurs- ing program to offer a part-time option in addition to the traditional full-time model of instruction. The deadline to apply to the Full-Time Nursing Program is June
