The Battle Creek Community Foundation launches the Recover and Re-Engage Initiative
The Battle Creek Community Foundation is launching the Recover and Re-Engage Initiative, a multi-tiered recovery strategy to address the mid and long-term impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. The strategy will increase the flexibility and responsiveness of BCCF and provide additional opportunities for funding.
The Recover and Re-Engage initiative includes:
1. Modification to Existing Grants – 2019-2020 grantees are eligible to request modifications to their current grants to allow them to address work changes or losses associated with the pandemic.
2. Early Release of Distributions from Organizational Endowments – Fund representatives may request the immediate process of their annual distributions.
3. Greater Battle Creek Recover and RE-Engage Grant funds – $100,000 has initially been earmarked to provide short-term, unrestricted funding to support operational needs. Grants will range from $5,000 to $20,000.
4. Greater Battle Creek Recover and Re-Engage Nonprofit Relief Loan Fund – $1 million has been placed into a loan fund for nonprofits. These low-interest 36-month loans will have 0% interest for the first year with modest interest in years two and three.
Battle Creek is resilient and with dedication and determination, we know our community will continue to thrive. As we all put our beliefs into action!
