BATTLE CREEK CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL
Career Academies for Every Student
BCCHS Career Academies ensure every Bearcat graduates career, college and community ready!
The Career Academies model means that every student at BCCHS chooses a career-focused academic pathway at
the end of their ninth grade year. In grades 10–12, students receive instruction that is tailored to their interests, and opportunities to gain field-based knowledge and experience.
CAREER ACADEMIES OFFER:
• Smaller learning communities, where students learn with a dedicated team of teachers and classmates who share their interests.
• A jump start into a career or college, giving every student the opportunity to earn college credit, obtain an industry certification, or craft a post-secondary plan to go on to a college or university.
• Career exploration fairs and industry field trips, to learn more about career opportunities and meet future role models.
• Job shadowing, giving students insight into the daily realities of their professions of interest while connecting with local business partners in fields connected to their pathways.
• Internships, allowing students to obtain hands-on experience and form valuable connections with industry professionals.
